19 June 2025

Despite construction work, the campus will once again be a festival hotspot in 2025. A vacant area in front of the university's new extension makes this possible. On Thursday, 19 June, one of the biggest music festivals of its kind will once again take place in Bielefeld.

This year, the festival site will be located between the city railway and the new main entrance.
Familiar festival guests will not have to reorientate themselves. Coming from the city railway, the festival site is now to the left of the red pedestrian bridge instead of the right. There is enough space for thousands of music fans on the large meadow in front of the striking new building. The side stages for smaller performances will move to the square between the university and the sixth form college. ‘In addition to the action on the Red Bull stage, we also have a new place to sit down and relax,’ says a delighted Walent-Tony Cerkez.

Further information on the program and ticket sales can be found at www.campusfestival-bielefeld.de

Car and bicycle parking spaces

Closed areas in the Cebitec car park

Car park 2 will be closed on Thursday, 19 June from 6:00 am. This means that the car parks will not be available until 12:00 on Friday, 20 June. The outside car parks of Building X will be closed from 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, 19 June until 6:00 a.m. on Friday, 20 June. Parts of the car park at CeBiTec (Building G) will already be closed on Monday, 16.06. 6:00 am (marked in red). These car parks will be available again from Saturday 21 June. The area marked in yellow will be closed from Thursday, 19 June at 6:00 am until Friday, 20 June at 12:00 pm.

On 19 June, the event area will be cordoned off by an opaque fence from 13:30 (site plan). A large number of bicycle stands will then be located on the site. This applies to the bicycle stands in front of the new building. The bicycles must be removed by Wednesday evening, 18 June. Important: They will no longer be accessible after that! And: Bicycles that are on the event site on Thursday and pose a safety problem there will be removed for a fee. The university accepts no liability for these bicycles. If your bike has been removed for the above reasons, please send an e-mail to info@campusfestival-bielefeld.de to clarify the return of the bike.

We recommend travelling to the university by tram or bus on the day of the festival if possible. The trams run at the following intervals on the day of the event:

†’→ 7.5-minute intervals between 15:00 and 18:30 and from 23:00 to 01:00
→ 10-minute intervals between 18:30 and 19:30 and from 22:00 to 23:00
→ 15-minute intervals between 19:30 and 22:00

Access to the main university building

The entrances to the main university building (UHG) in building sections A, B, S and K will be closed from 14:00. The main entrance and all other entrances and exits of the UHG can be used as normal. Of course, the closed doors are also available as emergency exits in an emergency.

Security

Once again this year, following consultation with the regulatory authorities, bags, rucksacks and other items of luggage larger than DIN A4 are not permitted at the Campus Festival. Furthermore, as in previous years, no glass bottles, drinks cans, plastic drinks bottles, Tetra Paks over 0.5 litres, pyrotechnic objects, weapons or weapon-like objects, chairs and objects used to raise the stand position, food, professional photo and video equipment, sound recording devices, drones and laser pointers are permitted on the festival site.

Closed roads

Closure of Universitätsstraße

On the day of the event, Universitätsstraߟe will be closed between car park 3 and the Hermeneutischer Zirkel roundabout from 6:00 am.

Closure of the Morgenbreede

Morgenbreede and Konsequenz, between Synthese and the access road to the construction site, will also be closed. In addition, the development corridor at the level of Building Z will not be passable on the day of the event.

Disturbance through music

The festival will lead to disruptions. On the one hand, this concerns the restrictions described above. The stage programme starts at 15:30. By then at the latest, there will also be disruptions caused by the music. Sound checks will take place beforehand. This will primarily affect the areas of the university adjacent to the event site. We hope for your understanding.
